This is the world’s most expensive bottle of whisky. It is a single malt scotch whisky from The Macallan distillery. In 2010 it was purchased in a charity auction at Sotheby’s New York for $460,000 USD. The whisky has been vatted from three casks: a 1942, 1945, and 1946 cask. In January 2010 the youngest of these casks turned 64 years old (and that is when the whisky was bottled) which means that this Macallan is titled simply The Macallan 64-year-old. The French crystal company Lalique has created a one-of-a-kind crystal decanter for this extremely special bottling.
